Terms of service
Draft, 2 November 2026. To be reviewed by a solicitor before launch. The company details are to be confirmed.
1. The service
Yotcrew ([company name], [company number]) provides an app and website for superyacht crew and vessels: crew profiles, daily operations (jobs, checklists, watch schedules, handovers, chat, reports) and sea time records. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 and give true details. Keep your password to yourself.
- Your crew profile, papers and sea time are yours, and stay with you from boat to boat.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
3. Vessels
- Whoever sets up a vessel becomes its admin and confirms they’re authorised by the vessel’s owner or operator. For a vessel’s operational records, the vessel’s operator decides how they’re used (as data controller) and Yotcrew processes them on its behalf under our data processing terms.
- Admins and heads of department are responsible for who they invite, and what roles they give.
4. Using Yotcrew properly
- Don’t upload anything unlawful, or anyone else’s documents without their permission.
- Don’t try to get at data you aren’t allowed to see, or disrupt the service.
- Be respectful in chat. Vessel admins can remove crew.
5. Sea time and testimonials
Yotcrew counts sea time from your vessel’s log under the MCA’s rules (MSN 1858), and testimonials are signed by the vessel’s Master. Yotcrew doesn’t verify the log: the vessel is responsible for it, and the MCA, PYA or Nautilus decide what they accept.
6. Safety
Yotcrew helps you record and share safety issues, but it doesn’t replace the vessel’s safety management system, emergency procedures or the Master’s authority.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Yotcrew running, but it may sometimes be unavailable. We may change or improve features, and will tell you in the app about important changes to these terms.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law. Otherwise, Yotcrew isn’t liable for indirect losses, or for decisions made on information recorded in the app. [Cap to be set by solicitor.]
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
